Something Different

Challenges

Colour Create (53) - Red/Gold/White/Xmas
Delightful Challenges - Ribbon/Autumn colours
Friday Sketchers (119) - Sketch
Allsorts (69) - Colours Of Autumn
Pollycraft (61) - Autumn Colours
A Spoonful Of Sugar (121) - Fall Into Autumn
Creative Card Crew - Autumn/Fall

While having a little blog hop yesterday I came across a tutorial for making a gift bag out of an envelope so thought I would have a go. Unfortunately I cannot remember for the life of me what blog it was on, sorry. Now, although this is a Christmas gift bag, whenever I think of Autumn I always think of the reds and golds of the fallen leaves and these are the colours of my flowers. I have followed the great sketch using contrasting papers. I love using these flowers and leaves as they are so easy to work with and always get a lovely result. Thanks for looking.

Thinking Of You

Challenges

The Creative Cottage (20) - Acetate

I don't know about you but I find it very difficult to work with acetate. Whenever I try using it I end up with a horrible mess that gets thrown in the bin. However, I was saved by a sudden realisation that a couple of years ago I bought a load of 'bubble' front cards. I managed to find them and make a couple of cards. This is the first one using one of my favourite decoupage flower bouquets. Although you can't see it there are five layers to the image. I have kept it very simple so that the emphasis is on the flowers. Hope you like it enough to leave me a comment.

Kick Up Your Heels!

Challenges

Crafty Creations (70) - Black/White/Splash Of Red
Fab 'N' Funky (26) - Piece That Paper

For this card I have 'paper pieced' the shoe and added Diamond Glaze to the heel and a pearl on the strap fastener. There are more pearls on the sentiment. I have stamped swirls in the corners and added gems for the 'splash of red'. I also inked around the edges of the white card with red ink. I then added another small swirl to finish it off.

A Girl's Best Friend

Challenges

ABC - Z is for Zero Embellishments

Funky Fairys (28) - Black & White

Charisma Cards (31) - Sketch

I started this card by covering the base card with two design papers following the sketch, then added the black & white card pieces. I embossed a paisley pattern on the white triangular bit using the cuttlebug. Next I cut the circles using my nesties and placed them in the middle. On top of the circles I cut out and paper-pieced the shoe. Finally, I added the sentiment. Hope you like it.

So Chic

Challenges

Ooh La La Creations (32) - Black & Pink

Paperplay (25) - Ooh La La Fashion

The panels on this gatefold card have a lovely spotty paper on them to match the lady's attire and I have added faux stitching down the sides of each panel. A fabric/punched flower has been added to the bottom of the card. The main image has been decoupaged and then layered onto black and pink card and attached with foam pads.

It's A Girl Thing...

Challenges

Lili of the Valley (30) - Paper Piecing

Creative Card Crew (15) - Black plus Other

This is another of Jak heath's gorgeous shoes. This time I have printed it twice, once onto white paper and once onto red paper, and then pieced the two together. I also printed the backing paper onto red paper but it looked too overpowering and dark so kept to the black and white. The decoration on the front of the shoe is a button with a gem in the centre. I coloured the flower to match with MLP pens and added a gem. I finished off with a ribbon and added another gem to the bow.

Kick Up Your Heels!

Challenges

Crafty Muse - Black, White & Other

Cute Daisy May (14) - Let's Emboss It

I couldn't resist doing this little shoe as soon as I saw it on Crafters Kitchen. The shoe has been 'paper pieced' with gems added to the front of the shoe and Diamond Glaze to the strap button. It is placed onto embossed card with foam pads. The flower has been 'iced' with hologram EP and a gem added to the centre. The sentiment has been added after applying Diamond Glaze to the buttons. Finally I added a recycled piece of organza ribbon.

Little Black Dress

Challenges

Cupcake Craft (36) - Sketch

Cute Daisy May (8) - All That Glitters

Charisma Cardz (15) - Little Black Dress

Crafty Creations (11) - Sparkle

I have had this stamped image (thanks Sue) for a couple of weeks and couldn't quite think what to do with it until now. All I have done with the actual image is to colour the necklace with a Sakura stardust pen and add a few gems. The white flowers have also had the edges coloured with a stardust pen as they were a bit too white.

Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge (20)

This week we had a colour combo challenge which was 'Red, Black and White' with optional 'Grey'. I love this colour combo and was eager to do something. I was going to make a card but I decided to make this little gift box instead. The box has a side opening with a sleeve band around it. I think maybe the punched tag is a wee bit to big for the box but hey! let's call it artistic licence. Please excuse the pictures, I scanned them because I was too lazy to get the camera out!!!
The card I used was printed on the computer with one of Jak Heath's free downloads (see sidebar for link) and I used one of her 'Build A Blossom' flowers again, I do so love these! I stamped the tag with Sarah Kay's 'Picnic Of Daisies' stamps and coloured it with MLP pens. As you can see I managed to incorporate the optional grey colour.

Tote Bag & Nine Cards (Forever Friends Challenge)

The Complete Set
The Tote Bag

1 - 3

4 - 6

7 - 9

The challenge on Forever Friends this week is to 'make a gift for someone' so I am entering this set of cards. I made this little set about three weeks ago for a very special young lady in Malaysia who I have been told, was thrilled to receive them. I found the idea on a Stampin Up demonstrator's blog, her name is Rochelle and you can find the bag etc here, thank you Rochelle. The bag was very easy to make, as was the cards. I have tried to make the cards suitable for various occassions.

Just Peachy (3 Challenges)

Challenges

Papertake - Sketch

Creative Card Crew (3) - Warm Colours

Secret Crafter (25) - Stitching

What a great sketch to follow, I really enjoyed doing this one and will use it again. I have used one of Jak Heath's 'Build A Blossom' again for this card. I really love these flowers, they look impressive but are very easy to do. The flower started off white but I coloured it by stippling it using versamark inkpads until I got the colour I wanted. The sentiment was done by masking the stamp which I have never tried before, thanks Jeanette for telling me how. I have done faux stitching around the edge of the card and also in the middle. All in all I am really pleased with how this one turned out.

Seeing Spots (2 Challenges)

Challenges

Truly Scrumptious (2) - Sketch (Handmade Buttons)

Dutch Dare (39) - Sorry I Forgot

I have kept this card quite simple as I think all the spots are quite busy enough, sorry if it hurts your eyes!

I first covered a white card with a square of black card, then I cut four smaller squares of spotty paper and placed these on top. I used my nesties to cut a black circle and attached it with D/S tape. I then layered the flower and attached this with foam pads. I made the buttons with black shrink plastic (nice and scary) and tied white ribbon through the holes before attaching them with sticky dots. Finally I stamped and layered the sentiment and attached it with D/S tape.

Lili Of The Valley Challenge (21)

This week's challenge is 'Bright and Beautiful' and this card is certainly bright and the fairy is beautiful.

I covered the base card with a piece of design paper. Onto this I placed a strip of card that I had scalloped and added lace to. I placed 'Scarlet' at the bottom having glittered her wings first with glitter glue. I then built the flower up and highlighted it with a Sakura pen and glittered the centre before placing it at the top of the card. To finish off I added the greeting.

The flower is a freebie from the lovely talented Jak Heath. Why not pop over to her blog and see her wonderful creations.
