Cupcake Craft Challenge (24)

This week's challenge at Cupcake Craft is 3,2,1, (3 card, 2 embellishments and 1 ribbon). I think this card has a few more than that ha!ha!

I made this Bookatrix card for a friend to give her daughter tomorrow, I hope she likes it.

First I embossed and cut out the two largest pages using the Bookatrix embossing board from the Glitter Girls (one of my favourites). I then printed the verse onto a sheet of parchment and heat embossed it in silver while the ink was still wet. I then embossed and cut it out as above. I added peeloff borders and corners to these. The six-sided (forgotten what it's called) behind the flowers was embossed etc. using their Majestic board. I made the bouquets and stuck them on using silicone glue and added vellum butterflies. Having added the organza ribbon I made a matching box and a little stand.

Thinking Of You/LOTV Challenge (16)

I was asked to do this one for my son to give to a friend who is having health problems at the moment, I hope it cheers her up a bit.
I used the 'masking' technique to create the two flowers. I diecut the slider using a cuttlebug die.

Secret Crafter Challenge (16)

The challenge at Secret Crafter this week is '1,2,3,' in other words, 1 image, 2 papers and 3 embellishments. I hope this card qualifies as it has a deoupage image, two different colour cards (counting the base card), a ribbon, charm and peeloffs. Although it doesn't show up in the photo, I have glittered the edges of the butterflies wings with Stickles. I did this one for my auntie who had her birthday on Sunday, she loved it!

Creative Inspirations Challenge (1)

A new challenge called Creative Inspirations has started today and their challenge is 'Valentine' BUT you have to include the colour black. I think this card might just qualify, what do you think? I must admit I made this card some while ago so can't remember where the image came from. The sentiment is computer generated and the black heart paper was a freebie download, again I can't remember where from.
Thanks for looking.

Charisma Cards Challenge (3)

This week's Charisma Cardz challenge is 'Love' so I have made this wedding card. The main image and sentiment is a decoupage freebie by Penny Wessenauer. I have covered the dress with a layer of 'Frosted Lace' Stickles and the veil with 'Star Dust' Stickles. Unfortunately these don't show up very well in the photo. I embossed the right side of the card and added some gems.

Purely Stamping Blog Candy Challenge

I just happened to come across Linda's blog today and discovered that to celebrate getting 10,000 hits on her blog 'Purely Stamping', she is giving away a set of Stampin Up stamps. To be in with a chance of winning this very generous prize she has challenged everyone to make a card or scrapbook page using her lovely sketch. You have to be very quick though as it ENDS TOMORROW, 24th January.
Do go and have a look at her blog anyway as she is a very talented lady and has a great blog.

Lili Of The Valley Challenge (15)

This week's theme at the LOTV challenge blog is 'Valentine'.
I decided to combine pink and red for this card and use a sketch from Sketch Saturday challenge blog. The sentiment stamp is Penny Black and the teddy was a freebie on a magazine, coloured with watercolour pencils. I have layered the teddy using my nesties. I added a piece of cardstock that I embossed using the cuttlebug heart embossing folder and inked with a versamagic inkpad. The paper border and gems are from my stash.

Pink Champagne Bottle

Thought you might like to see this other bottle that I made a little while ago for my good friends Mike & Claire who were celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary. The card recipe is the same as the previous post.
Thanks for looking.

Papertake Challenge

This week's Papertake challenge is to include 'three different shapes' onto your card. A friend at work asked me to make her a Golden Wedding card so I decided to make this champagne bottle for her. As you can see it has quite a few different shapes on it so I thought I would enter it for the challenge.

Missed this one as well, duh!

Well! at this rate, I shall end up doing the challenges one or two weeks AFTER they are due ha!ha! This one WAS going to be for the Forever Friends ATC challenge but never mind, thought I would show you anyway. I don't as a rule make ATCs and I will probably end up using it as a topper on a card. I watercoloured the FF bears with my pencils and coloured the dragonflies wings with Sakura glitter pens.

Inks - Archival & Adirondack

Charisma Cardz (2) Challenge

At the Papertake challenge we were given another of Dawny's lovely sketches to work with. I have combined this with the Charisma Cardz challenge this week which is 'Fantasy', one of my favourite themes. As you can see I have turned the sketch and I have layered the diecut image using Nesties. I made the background layer using Glimmer Mists, so it is nice and sparkly. I also coloured the unicorn's hair, horn, butterfly and corner peeloffs with Sakura glitter pens for more sparkle. I do like a bit of sparkle...

Duh! Just realised I was too late to enter this in the Papertake challenge for the sketch, what am I like???

Dutch Dare Challenge (31)

This is the second card I made tonight at craft club. As you can see we used a sketch from Mojo Monday. I like this sketch very much and will use it again. I have layered the image using Nesties and coloured it with watercolour pencils. The brad in the middle of the flower has been coloured with alchohol inks.

Stamp Something Challenge/Birthday Somethings

At craft club tonight we were doing layouts so I thought I would combine them with a couple of challenges. This first one is using a sketch from SCS which I enjoyed doing. To stamp the flowers I used the 'masking' technique and layered them using Nesties.
Card Recipe

Cardstock - SU
Papers - Summertime Designs
Inks/Colouring - Archival inkpad and Marvy Le Plume pens
Stamp - Woodware
Greeting - Papermania Rub-ons
Butterfly & Ribbon - Stash (ribbon was recycled from a box of chocs)

Cute Card Challenge (43)

This week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge is 'Have A Giggle' so I have come up with this golfing card that I made for a friend. I just love the verse! The decoupaged image is from Jolly Nation while the papers are from my scrapbox again. The brads are from my stash. The verse was computer generated and I coloured it with chalks.
Thanks for looking.

(1) Cupcake Craft (22) - Sketch

(2) Ooh La La (27) - Love is in the air

(3) Paperplay - Pink/Green/Buttons & Blossoms

(5) Penny Black (32) - Let's Get Dotty

The stamp for this one is PB and is coloured with watercolour pencils. The sentiment is a freebie rub-on. The paper is from Summertime Designs and the flowers and buttons are from my stash. A Spoonful Of Sugar Challenge

I have made this card using the sketch from the Cutie Sunday challenge and combined it with A Spoonful Of Sugar challenge which this week is 'paper piecing'. The stamps I have used are Hero Arts and all the papers are Dovecraft. The brads are from my stash.
I must admit I am not keen on this one, perhaps it isn't bright enough!

Thanks for looking.

Mini Card Set

I have now completed the cards and envelopes to go in the 4"x4" Pizza Box that I made earlier. I'm afraid it is not a very good photo due to poor lighting.

I have done six cards and envelopes all using paper from K and Company. The greeting stamps are Hero Arts and are layered using my nesties in the cuttlebug. Gems, brads and prima flowers are from my stash.

Thank you for looking.

Magnolia V's Stampavie Challenge (9)

This week's challenge at Magnolia V's Stampavie is 'Give A Little' so I have made a CD Jewel Case Calendar.

I started off by separating the top & bottom of the CD case and then putting it back together the 'wrong' way round. Doing this enables it to stand up instead of just closing. I then covered a piece of cardstock with papers from Monti's Pixel Playground (make sure you cover the reverse side as well as this will also be on show). I then coloured in the dragonflies with Sakura Glitter pens to give a bit of sparkle, and added a PB sticker of daisies to the bottom corner. I stamped and coloured a Sarah Kay image with MLP pens and cut this out and attached it with 1mm foam pads. Having inserted it into the CD case I attached a small calendar to the front of the case.

Thanks for looking.

Lili Of The Valley Challenge (14)

This week we have a lovely sketch from Donalda to follow at the LOTV challenge.

My card has used a cute kitten cut-out fron LOTV which I have layered onto LOTV papers. I finished it off with a flower I have recycled from an old card.

Chinese New Year

This is a card I have done for a friend to celebrate Chinese New Year. The colours of red and gold are for good luck and as it is the year of the ox I have included one. The wording says 'Happy New Year', and I have used gold peel-offs. The gold embossed chrysanthemum is done using a stamp set I got from Create & Craft and layered using my nesties.

Stamp Something Challenge

This week's Stamp Something challenge is No Stamping Allowed and this is what I came up with. Seemed strange not to stamp an image as I am so used to either stamping or decoupaging. It certainly made me think.

I started off by embossing half the card with my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I then scored two lines to the left of the dots (unfortunately these don't show, but they are there). Next I tied two lengths of organza ribbon around the spine. I then 'iced' some Papermania flowers using Funstamps Glitter EP (you have to be careful not to melt the flowers doing this) and added a little pearl flower to the centre. I used a dragonfly peeloff which I coloured in with Sakura Glitter pens and finished it off with a mini envelope.

I just love the colours of this one, and all the sparkle.

Thanks for looking.

Friday Sketchers (34) & Chaisma Cardz (1) Challenges

I have made this card using the sketch for this week's Friday Sketchers (34) challenge and the colour scheme for this week's Charisma Cardz (1) challenge which is PINK.

The stamps I used are Penny Black and Hero Arts. The inkpads are Versacolor and Colorbox. The papers are from my scrapbox. The following are from my stash: flowers/brads/eyelets/gem and ribbons.

I enjoyed doing this layout as I have never linked two bits of card together with ribbon before so I had to work out how to do it. I think it came out alright.

Thanks for looking.

Ooh La La Challenge (26)

This week's challenge at Ooh La La is 'Small Is Beautiful' so I have made this 4"x4" Pizza Box. I have yet to make some mini cards to go inside but will post a picture later when they are done. The cardstock is again from my scrapbox and the paper is from K & Company. The stamp is from SU and the ribbons and eyelet is from my stash. Thanks for looking.

Four Challenges In One

For this lovely little calendar I took inspiration from Claire's sample calendar that she has done for this week's Secret Crafter challenge. If you visit her blog she has kindly put a tutorial on there. She is a very talented lady and her blog is well worth a visit. Thank you Claire, I shall certainly make more of these. The cardstock is from my scrapbox as is the spotty paper. The stamp is from the PB Critter Party Set and the flower and brad is from my stash.

The four challenges are:-

Secret Crafter - Anything But A Card

Penny Black - Pink & Brown

Cute Card - Something New At Xmas (Stamps)

Papertake - Seeing Spots

Sketch And Stash Challenge (1)

I have made this card for the new Sketch And Stash challenge which started this week. We have to follow a sketch and use a 'new' bit of stash on it. For my stash I have used a Sarah Kay stamp I had for Xmas which I have coloured with MLP pens and layered using my Nesties. The greeting is from LOTV which I have also coloured. I can't remember where the background paper came from as it was in my scrapbox. The butterfly brad is from my stash.

Thanks for looking.

Magnolia Vs Stampavie Challenge (8)

At Magnolia Vs Stampavie the challenge was to use this sketch and make a 'Thank You' card.
I used a freebie paper from Shabby Princess. The stamps used are Sarah Kay and Stampendous. I embossed the greetings using a versacolor inkpad and did faux stitching along the edges of the blue CS using a MLP pen. The image is coloured with my watercolour pencils. The little frame is one that my friend Val gave me and I coloured it using pearl paints. The butterfly is a peeloff and the flowers are from Habico.

Thanks for looking.

Sketch Saturday (32)/Forever Friends Challenges

For this card I have used this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday and combined it with the challenge from Forever Friends which is 'Your Favourite Colour', bet you can't guess what my favourite colour is??? Yep! your right, it's PINK!

First I covered the card using Papermania papers. Then I stamped the image using an Archival inkpad onto pink CS and also the starry paper. I coloured the image on the CS with my watercolour pencils and the one on the paper with Marvy Le Plume pens. I layered the CS image using my nesties. With the paper one, I wrote a little greeting on the tag and coloured the ribbon using the pens. I then cut out the parcel and layered it onto the CS image using foampads to give a 3D effect. The four flowers were stamped using a Personal Impressions stamp and coloured with the pens. I added the brads from my stash to the middles and positioned them with foam pads.

Thanks for looking.

Penny Black Challenge (30)

This week's challenge at Penny Black was 'embossing' so this card has quite a bit of it going on.

First I stamped and coloured the image using my watercolour pencils and then applied diamond glaze to the bubbles. This was layered up using my nestabilities. I then inked up the cuttlebug folder (using a brayer), with versamark ink and ran it through the cuttlebug with a piece of green card in it. I carefully removed the card and sprinkled hologram EP all over it which I then heated with the heat gun. This gives a sparkly background to your embossing. The background paper is a freebie from Monti's Pixel Playground which I stamped and embossed using a Stampendous stamp and Versacolor inkpad. The flowers were cut out of a freebie paper from Summertime Designs.

Secret Crafter Challenge

For this week's challenge at Secret Crafter we had to follow this lovely sketch. I decided to try my new 'Moose' stamp from the Whimsey Animal Collection. I watercoloured him with my Faber Castell pencils and then mounted him onto cardstock using my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities. I punched a tag and stamped it using a greeting tag stamp from SU and a leaf stamp from one of my See D's sets. The papers are SU and a download.

Over at Scrap, Stamp and be Merry, Erin is giving away some Blog Candy and would like to see a card made with one of the stamps from the Whimsey Animal Collection, so here it is... Thanks for looking.

Three In One...

This card fits these three challenges:-
Papertake - Dawny's Sketch 5, Cupcake Craft - (20) Background Inspired and Stamp Something - Something New.
OK, here we go then. First we have Dawny's lovely sketch which I loved doing (I shall certainly be using it again). Second the colour theme is inspired by CC's challenge blog which is pink & brown. The papers are from my scrapbox and the base cardstock is from Stampin Up (Chocolate Chip). The ribbon is from Craft Work and the tag was die cut with the Cuttlebug. The flowers and button are from my stash. Last but not least, the image is a new stamp I got for Christmas. It is Sarah Kay's 'Picnic of Daisies' and I have coloured it using Marvy Le Plume pens.
You might have noticed that the papers & card I have been using lately are, on the whole, from my scrapbox. This is because one of my New Year's Resolutions is to use up the bits in my scrapbox as much as possible. Therefore I can't always remember where they are from. As I have 5 different scrapboxes all with offcuts in I think it might take me to NEXT year before I have used them all ha!ha! Thanks for looking.

Sketch Saturday/Forever Friends

This week's challenge at Sketch Saturday was "Your Choice". I have chosen the sketch from challenge 27 for my card. As you can see I turned it and used FF stickers and a LOTV greeting. The cardstock is from my scrapbox and the backing paper is a free download. As I have used FF images it qualifies for the Forever Friends challenge which is "anything". Thanks for looking.
