Thistledown & Wild Roses Sneak Peek
ChallengesLili Of The Valley DT (40) - 3 Papers/2 Stamps/1 Embellishment
Pollycraft (27) - Sketch
Simon Says (29) - Give Thanks
I have used one of the new 'Fairie' stamps from the Lili Of The Valley November release, isn't she gorgeous? This one is called 'Thistledown and Wild Roses' and the stamps will be launched at the NEC, Birmingham 5th-6th November and available to buy online from 11th November.
I have coloured the image with pencils and outlined her wings with a clear Sakura Stardust pen (doesn't show up in picture sadly) before stamping a sentiment onto the image. The ribbon is also glittery.

Crafty Creations (40) - Pull-Out
If you look carefully at the front of this one you might just make out the three strips of corresponding paper going across the card (they have butterflies on). I think maybe I should of backed them with card so that they showed up a bit more. It was only when I finished that I realised they weren't very clear. The image has been coloured with my pencils as usual. I am hoping that Crafty Creations will accept it for their challenge as you 'pull-out' the images inside, fingers crossed!

Daring Cardmakers - Getting Punchy With It (Latest Punch Purchase)
This is the new card I quickly made for a friend to thank her for all the help she kindly gave me yesterday. I covered the base card with paper and put a panel of another paper down the left hand side. I then used my new MS punch (bought yesterday) to cut another panel (pearl paper) for the bottom of the card. The digi stamp image is coloured with pencils and layered using Nesties. The sentiment is stamped from a new set of stamps, also bought yesterday, and similarly layered. The flowers are made up using another new MS punch (Cornflower) and a Prima Got flower that has been sprayed with Glimmer Mist, although you can't see the subtle pearl effect in the picture.

Paperplay (40) - Parlez Vous (Another Language)
This is a card I made earlier this year to celebrate Chinese New Year. The colours red and gold symbolize good luck and this year it is the year of the Ox. The main image is a chrysanthemum which I simply stamped and embossed. The words 'Kung Hei Fat Choy' is what Chinese people say when they greet each other at New Year and means 'Congratulations And Be Prosperous'.
Challenges
Charisma Cardz (43) - No Backing Paper
The Pink Elephant (39) - Brown/Yellow/Neutral/Own Choice (Green)
This is another card I made earlier this year and have never shown. Although the colour yellow is not very significant you will see that the flower on her hat is indeed yellow. The main image has been stamped and coloured with pencils as usual and layered onto brown and green card. The neutral backing is parch marque card. The sentiment has simply been stamped onto the backing card and peel-off borders to finish it off.

Stamp With Fun (31) - A Card With A Scene
Last but not least, another one I made earlier this year but didn't show. OK so I know I didn't 'make up' the scene with different stamps, but, it's still a scene so I think it should be alright for the challenge :-) This time I coloured the image with pencils but then applied water for a watercoloured look. The background is glossy photo paper which I applied alchohol ink to (the best bit I've ever done ha!ha!). I used bubble stickers to finish it off. Again, a simple card.

That's all for now so thanks for looking.

Off To The Halloween Party!
Challenges

The Rainbow Lady (78) - Halloween
Stamp Something - Halloween Somethings
Stampin For The Weekend (21) A Haunting Good Time
Penny Black (72) - Halloween
Secret Crafter (55) - Orange + One Other Colour
One Stop Crafts (52) - Celebration
When I saw these challenges I immediately thought of a Halloween Party so this young lady is all dressed up ready for the party. The image was first stamped onto white card and then onto the spotty paper. I then cut out her clothes and bag from the spotty paper image and added these to the other image. I then coloured in the stripes on her stole with a MLP pen. To give her some glitz I coloured bits with a Sakura Stardust pen. I covered the white base card with black card and orange spotty paper and added three pieces of ribbon. I stamped the sentiment, layered it and attached with foam pads. I finished it by adding some orange and black flowers and a little black heart gem. Hope you like it.

Computer Fun! Sneak Peek
Challenges
Sunday Sketch & Stamp (13) - Sketch
Creative Card Crew (33) - Babies & Children
Doodle Palace - Non Sporty 11 - 16 yr old Boy
This is my first attempt at an easel card and I was quite suprised how easy they are to make. Apologies for the poor picture, it was taken with my camera late last night and I will be the first to admit that I am rubbish at taking close-up photos.
I have used another of the 'Boy' stamps from the November Release from Lili Of The Valley. This one is called 'Computer Fun' and the stamps will be launched at the NEC, Birmingham 5th-6th November and available to buy online from 11th November.
I started by covering the base card with the birthday text paper then cut and rounded a strip of black card and placed it in the middle following the great sketch. I then coloured the image with pencils and a silver pen and layered it with Nesties before placing over the strip. I then printed the 'title', layered it and attached with foam pads. I then covered the inside with plain paper after punching a scalloped edge along one side (I have kept it plain so that it can be written on). The sentiment was stamped and layered in the same way and attached with foam pads. Finally I added a few buttons to finish it. I think this would make a great card for a non sporty boy, what do you think?

Sketch Saturday Challenge (73)
This week on the Sketch Saturday Challenge there is a lovely sketch but I don't think I have done it justice with this card. The digi stamp images have been coloured with pencils and I have added lots of glitter glue. Although they don't show up very well there is a punched border at the bottom of the main image and sparkly punched snowflakes along the strip at the bottom of the card where I have stamped a sentiment.

Simon Says Challenge (26)
This week the Simon Says Challenge is asking for a get well card so here is my 'little' card for it (It's actually A4 size). This is the first time I have had a go at a LARGE card and although it has come out ok I don't think I will be making many this size, much prefer the smaller ones. The image is decoupaged and I have used a circle punch to cut the corners.Card Recipe

Rope Swing
Challenges
Lili Of The Valley (39) - Sketch
This week on the LOTV challenge we have a lovely sketch by Marcea for you to follow. For my card I have used one of the NEW boy stamps called 'Rope Swing', available now from Lili Of The Valley. I just love this image as it reminds me so much of my sons when they were small boys, such a long time ago...
I first covered the base card with paper and added a panel down the left side and an oval at the bottom. Next I cut a strip of the green card and attached a panel of paper to it. After tying some raffia around it I attached this to the top of the card. I coloured the image with pencils but he was too 'clean' so I dirtied him up with chalks, much better methinks. There was still something missing, but what? Having given it a bit of thought I remembered that my sons usually made a noise when they were swinging, hence the word I added. Satisfied, I then chalked around the edges and layered him with Nesties. I finished the card by adding a button with raffia tied through it. I really like this card, I hope you do too.
