Smiles and Laughter

Another old sentiment stamp which I took off of it's wooden block without making a note of the make, sorry.

All the stamps have been heat embossed (anything to keep warm...).  The flourish is from Debbi Moore and the border one is a magazine freebie.

Time Flies

As you can see this is not my usual style, not cute and girly at all.  Still, it was quick and fun to do and I'm trying hard to master CAS cards.

It is a one layer card and I started by applying some distress ink to one side.  I then overstamped with Big Ben from Papermania.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment which is from a Debbi Moore magazine freebie.

This year I am hell bent on using my freebies and am not doing too bad.

Spring Butterfly

The Sring like colours of this card are inspired by the above picture.  I made my own background by stamping swirls onto rainbow coloured paper with a dye ink.  The flowers are a digital download print which I printed onto pearl card before fussy cutting and shaping.  I added some stickles to the centres.  To make the butterfly I first stamped and heat embossed onto parchment paper.  I then dry embossed the butterfly using an embossing tool before attaching with silicone glue.

Yesterday I had a little play and made a gatefold card in a style I used to do about eight years ago.  It is certainly different from my usual cutesy type and I think I might stray away from them now and then as I seem to have got into a bit of a rut.  I certainly don't seem to play with my stamps to the full anymore, just stamp and colour an image and shove it on a card.

Anyway, back to the card in hand.  This is quite a simple card to make as I just layered the front and inside with card and paper.  I then added some die-cut corners to the front and stamped some butterflies directly onto the panels.  The stamped image has been coloured with promarkers and a touch of stardust.  I then chalked around the image before layering and attaching using nesties and foam pads.  I then stamped and heat embossed more butterflies directly onto the side panels.  The wrap is simply cut out using a template, and joined with a bit of sticky backed velcro.  I have added punched daisies with gem centres to the middle.  These wrap gatefold cards were very popular way back then but seem to have lost their popularity over the years.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.
