Summer Gardening...

I was having a root around in my scrap paper box this morning and came across these papers so decided to make a card with them.  I can't remember where they came from as they are about 10 years old.

I have coloured Tilda with promarkers and paper pieced her dress.  I then doodled some pencil lines to give her some movement. To get her to look as if she was holding the trowel I cut slits and threaded the trowel through.  The trowel was part of an old sticker set.  The watering can has been die cut from silver mirri card.  The fabric flowers are from my stash and I have added some large pearls to the centres.

My card stopper panel has been layered with card and more paper.  I added some ribbon threaded lace to the top.  Finally I attached a sentiment which says "To a lovely grandmother on your special day".

Time Flies

As you can see this is not my usual style, not cute and girly at all.  Still, it was quick and fun to do and I'm trying hard to master CAS cards.

It is a one layer card and I started by applying some distress ink to one side.  I then overstamped with Big Ben from Papermania.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment which is from a Debbi Moore magazine freebie.

This year I am hell bent on using my freebies and am not doing too bad.

Heartfelt Thanks

When I saw that this week's challenge at Less Is More was to use the colours of your kitchen I couldn't think what to do as my kitchen is very soft grey with duck egg walls and royal blue bits & bobs.  I then remembered a beautiful paper pad I had from DCWV many, many years ago.  Far too precious to cut into!!!  Luckily, I had cut into it once and there was a scrap of this gorgeous glittered paper left.  Just right!  I also found the grey background paper in there.  The sentiment stamp was a magazine freebie and the bow from my stash.

Special Delivery!

On Thursday 30th June our family had a very special delivery.  Our beautiful Sapphire Alice safely arrived, and here she is...

After losing her brother Chester last year you can imagine how precious my new granddaughter is.  To say we are all over the moon is an understatement!

Anyway, the card above is the one I made for her parents and features the beautiful digi stamp from Julia Spiri.  I coloured the image with promarkers (I had a feeling she was going to have a head of dark hair like her daddy did) and chalk.  I added crystal glaze to her eyes as well.  The paper and animals are from Nitwits and the sentiment is computer generated.
