Birthday Princess

Challenges

Squiggles & Giggles - Anything Goes
ABC - E is for Easel Card
M.A.W.T.T. (66) - Fairies or Fantasy
Digi Doodle Shop (27) - 3D It

Hands up all those of you who thinks my cards are like the buses! You don't see any for ages and then all of a sudden, three or four come along together!!!

This is the easel card I have just finished for my great niece's birthday, she will be two next week. She is certainly this family's little princess. I have decoupaged the great little castle and added stickles to the small hearts. I then stamped the tree and coloured it with pencils adding a couple of butterflies which I also glittered. Next came the princess who I coloured with Promarkers and stickles adding gems for her necklace and attaching with foam pads to make her stand out a bit. I have used the sentiments that came with the castle and added a bit of stickles to them. Finally, I added some flowers with brad centres. I think she will like it, don't you? Thanks for looking.

Thursday again and time for another Lili Of The Valley challenge. Don't forget that to be eligible for the prize you must use an LOTV image.

I think there is nothing more magical than decorating the Christmas tree. Once it is done and all the lights are lit and twinkling it transforms the whole room into a magical wonderland. My image has been coloured with Promarkers and Sakura Stardusts pens. I have also added flocking to his hat and Glamour Dust to the tree, edges of image and sentiment. The silver pearl panel has been embossed with snowflakes and punched snowflakes added to the pink pearl stars. One or two gems later and the card is finished. Hope you like what you see enough to leave me a comment. Thanks for looking.

Stamp Something - Fall Colours
Allsorts (71) - Plain & Simple

Here is a nice, quick, plain and simple Autumn birthday card. It took all of half an hour to make, not counting the colouring. I have followed the nice simple sketch but have added some triangles to the corners. I can't tell you how hard it was NOT to add a few flowers etc. The image has been coloured with pencils for a change. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Bookatrix

Challenges

Ooh La La (63) - Sentiment
Digi Doodle Shop (26) - Emboss It
Pollycrafts (63) - No Design Paper
Creative Card Crew - Bloomin Marvelous

At last I can show you a card! Sorry about the rubbish photo, it was taken in a hurry at night. I have been busy working on commissions and DT work for the past few days. This is one of the commissions I have been doing and it will be off to Malaysia in a couple of days, pity it's not me...

It's a long time since I did a Bookatrix card. Anyway the brief was that it had to be blue and pretty. The base is blue pearl card with lighter blue pearl paper and vellum on top. Having embossed and cut out the various layers, I printed a lovely verse onto the vellum (see below) and then heat embossed it with silver EP. I then embossed and cut out the panel behind the bouquet and edged it with peel-offs before placing this onto the vellum layer. I then edged all the layers with peel-off borders, corners and butterflies, adding a few gems along the way. Next I wrapped glittery ribbon around the middle and added a bow. I made a bouquet of blue and white roses and attached adding a glittery butterfly to the stems. I then made a stand and matching box. Job done! Hope you like this as much as I do, thanks for looking. The verse I put on the card says:-

Along the winding paths of life,

We meet with many friends who

Share with us the pleasures and

The happiness life sends, but

Those whose friendship never fails,

Whose hearts are always true…

These are the friends we cherish

Most, wonderful friends like you.

Please remember, to be eligible for the prize you MUST use an LOTV image. The DT have made some fabulous cards in all sorts of untraditional colours so why not pop on over to the blog and have a peek.

For my card I have used the colours beige and jade and the LOTV stamp called 'Sledging With Daddy' from the new Christmas range. I have used Promarkers and chalk to colour the image and added white peel-off snowflakes. Following the sketch (which I turned) I punched some borders to create a zig zag down the side. The flowers and leaves have been punched from coordinating papers with pearls added to the centres. To finish off I have added a few more pearls in two corners. Thanks for looking.

I Love Promarkers (32) - Sketch

Let's Ink It Up (3) Favourite Stamp & Charm
Wild Orchid (6) - Ribbon & Bows

This Elf Tilda stamp just has to be one of my all time favourites. She just looks so gorgeous whatever I do with her. I was inspired by the pink roses and the colours in both the photos and the great sketch to make this card. I really wanted to make a pretty, pretty card and I think I have achieved that with all the ribbon, lace and sparkle. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and glitter and I attached some lace around the edge before putting it onto the embossed card. The panel on the left has been punched and embossed along the edges before attaching some lace with ribbon threaded through it. The sentiment is a digi download which I layered with Nesties and added a butterfly charm to. I also placed a ribbon bow above it. The flowers are punched with paper roses added to the centres, and finally, a trio of butterflies punched from an old glittered gift tag finnishes the card off. Thanks for looking.

Bicycle

Challenges

Simon Says - Move It
Allsorts (70) - 3 Punches

When I was asked recently to make a card for a lady featuring a bicycle and flowers I panicked a bit as I didn't think I had anything with bicycles. Well, in the deepest, darkest, depths of my stash I found this PSX sticker which fit the criteria beautifully. I enhanced it with flowersoft to give it a bit of texture. All the embellishments have been punched using 4 different punches. I have since been told that the recipient has it in pride of place and loves it. Hope you like it as well, thanks for looking.

All Wrapped Up Again!

Challenges

Lily Of The Valley (65) - DT Card - Sketch By Lena
M.A.W.T.T. (64) - Christmas

Thursday again which means another Lili Of The Valley challenge, where does the time go? This week we have a great sketch by Lena to follow. When I first saw the sketch I was a bit daunted, but it is supposed to be a challenge, and really it wasn't as difficult as I first thought. So why not pop on over to the blog and have a go? While you are there check out all the DT's fantastic creations to give you inspiration. The prize this week has been kindly donated by Lili Of The Valley and is £10,00 Voucher to spend in their online shop, but please remember, to be eligible for the prize you must use an LOTV image.

This is one of my favourite stamps from the new LOTV Christmas range, really gorgeous. I have coloured her with Promarkers and added flock to her muff for texture. The whole card was also a challenge laid down by my friend Terri who wanted me to make a card with this image, colours and papers as she didn't think they would go together. So what do YOU think? Answers on a postcard!!! Failing that, kindly leave me a comment with your thoughts. Thanks for looking.

While having a little blog hop yesterday I came across a tutorial for making a gift bag out of an envelope so thought I would have a go. Unfortunately I cannot remember for the life of me what blog it was on, sorry. Now, although this is a Christmas gift bag, whenever I think of Autumn I always think of the reds and golds of the fallen leaves and these are the colours of my flowers. I have followed the great sketch using contrasting papers. I love using these flowers and leaves as they are so easy to work with and always get a lovely result. Thanks for looking.

Elf Tilda

Challenges

Just Magnolia (71) - Anything Goes

This is not the usual size card I make but this one came about because I wanted to make myself a bookmark. Well, I obviously need new glasses or a new ruler as it ended up far too big. Then I had the idea that it would fit onto a DL card, so here it is... Very plain and very simple but using a favourite stamp and favourite paper. I guess it's back to the drawing board for my bookmark!

Creative Inspirations (42) DT Card

Challenges

Creative Inspirations (42) - Shaped Card (Anything But Square)

Here is my first DT card for Creative Inspirations where Dawn has picked the challenge of a 'Shaped Card'. So we want to see all sorts of shapes but NOT square or rectangluar. This time we are being sponsored by Stamp & Create and also Fantastic Ribbons so why not pop on over to the challenge blog and take part and also have a look at all the wonderful inspiration from the DT.

Anyway, onto my card. As it was my youngest son's birthday last week I made this computer flat screen monitor featuring his favourite computer game. I used the 'Pastimes & Media' board from Keepsake Card Crafts to make the monitor. The figures on the screen have been cut out and popped up on foam pads for a 3d effect. I finished it with a rub-on greeting on the stand. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

C.R.A.F.T. (66) - Man's Best Friend
Totally Papercrafts (32) - Charming

While having a tidy up of the glory hole I call a craft room, I came across this long forgotton card with paw prints on it so thought I should use some of it, and this is the result. I have tried to keep it simple (no flowers etc!!!!). The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I have added diamond glaze to the water/bubbles. The panel behind the image has been embossed for a bubble effect. I found a charm and added it to the sentiment and finished off with a ribbon . Thanks for looking.

Challenges

Whiff Of Joy (86) - Sketch
Crafty Creations (83) - White + One (Brown)
I Love Promarkers (30) - Myth & Magic
Simon Says - Pearls & Lace
Charisma Cardz (35) - Inspired By A Song (My Kind Of Girl by Frank Sinatra)
Digi Doodle (23) - Write Me A Message

Here's a little card following the great sketch and using the fabulous 'Confirmed Melinda' stamp from WOJ. I have coloured her with Promarkers and added glitter to her wings. The flowers are stamped and then cut out with added pearls. I didn't have the right colour lace so I coloured it with a Promarker pen before tying it into a bow. If you can't remember the song that inspired this card here are the first few words -

She walks like an angel walks,
She talks like an angel talks,
And her hair has a kind of curl,
To my mind, she’s my kind of girl.

I bet you remember it now don't you? Thanks for looking.

Passion For Promarkers (67) - Teddy Bears Picnic

Cute Card Thursday (128) - Material Girl (Ribbon)

It's Thursday again which means it's time for another LOTV challenge. This week we have a great sketch from Bev and are being sponsored by Wild Orchid Crafts which means there are some of their fantastic flowers, gems and lace up for grabs. Do remember though, to be eligible for the prize you MUST use an LOTV image. So why not pop on over to the challenge blog and join in the fun! While you are there check out the other DT's wonderful creations.

As you can see I have gone with my favourite colour of pink for my card this week, although in much darker shades than I would normally choose (anything to be different). I have used one of the new stamps from LOTV called 'Jenny The Bear-Gifts Galore' and coloured it with Promarkers and adding flock to the hat. Having cut the image with Nesties I have edged it with glitter, doing the same with the greeting. The panel behind the image has been embossed with the CB snowflake folder. As I didn't have the right colours for the ribbon at the bottom or the flowers I coloured both of these with my Promarker pen. I finished it off by adding some gems to the flowers. I must admit I like my xmas cards to be untraditional colours rather than the traditional red and green so I really like this on, hope you do too. Thanks for looking.
