Ribbon Girls - Autumn Colours

Time for a new challenge at Whoopsi Daisy and this week we want to see your spooky 'Halloween' creations if you are not using a Whoopsi Daisy image.  However, if you are using a Whoopsi Daisy image, then it's 'Anything Goes'

I have made an easel card this week, hopefully with colours that are slightly different from the normal colours associated with Halloween.  In fact, before I added the images it was starting to look a bit like Christmas ha! ha!  Once I had attached all the panels and paper I set about doing the base.  First I cut a strip of red card and added this spooky black ribbon.  I then decided that the spider's eyes didn't show up very well so added some gems.  Next I printed and coloured the great sentiment and attached with foam pads.  I found a shrink plastic cat that I had made years ago and added this to the corner and although you can't see them very well, he has sparkly eyes done with a stardust pen.

For the main part I printed off the spooky house and added a touch of colour to the windows and black glitter to the tree.  Once I had attached it to the card I added my cute little witch to the corner.  Next I coloured up the second cute witch using promarkers for both, cut her out and attached her with foam pads.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Today I have made an Autumn inspired card.  I love walking in the New Forest in the Autumn so I thought this lovely image was ideally suited to the theme.  As usual she has been coloured with promarkers and a bit of chalk.  Having turned the great sketch I layered the card up accordingly using some gorgeous digi papers and some handmade paper for the green circle before attaching the image with foam pads.  The leaves have been die-cut whilst the butterflies have been punched.  I have added glitter glue to the butterflies and the paper flowers.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Yesterday I had a little play and made a gatefold card in a style I used to do about eight years ago.  It is certainly different from my usual cutesy type and I think I might stray away from them now and then as I seem to have got into a bit of a rut.  I certainly don't seem to play with my stamps to the full anymore, just stamp and colour an image and shove it on a card.

Anyway, back to the card in hand.  This is quite a simple card to make as I just layered the front and inside with card and paper.  I then added some die-cut corners to the front and stamped some butterflies directly onto the panels.  The stamped image has been coloured with promarkers and a touch of stardust.  I then chalked around the image before layering and attaching using nesties and foam pads.  I then stamped and heat embossed more butterflies directly onto the side panels.  The wrap is simply cut out using a template, and joined with a bit of sticky backed velcro.  I have added punched daisies with gem centres to the middle.  These wrap gatefold cards were very popular way back then but seem to have lost their popularity over the years.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Lili's Little Fairies Challenge DT - Classic Christmas

Challenges

Sketch Saturday (228) - Sketch
ABC Christmas - Twelve Days Of Christmas (Pipers Piping)
Divas By Design (56) - Anything Goes

Time for a new challenge at Lili's Little Fairies and this week the theme is 'Classic Christmas'.  So if you haven't started your Christmas cards already then this is the ideal challenge to get you going.

I'm not too keen on the traditional colours for my Christmas cards but thought this cut-out image cried out to go on a red card teamed with gold.  The paper is a very old one that has been discontinued but I had a scrap of it that fitted the card so used it and edged it with gold peel-off borders.  The gold behind the image has been embossed with musical notes.  A sentiment and some gold candi finishes this quick and easy card.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Time for a new challenge at Whoopsi Daisy and this week the theme is 'Flowers Galore'.  Nice and easy as we all like to put lots of flowers on our cards don't we?

I have made an easel card today using this sweet little ballerina, isn't she cute?  I flipped the image before printing so that I had two of them.  I then coloured them with promarkers and added glitter to their dresses.  Once I had attached them to my card I added some die-cut leaves topped with paper flowers and roses.  I then placed a little ribbon bow in the middle.  The base is quite plain with just a sentiment and some die-cut corners.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Well, so much for my holiday!!!  I was supposed to be away on holiday with friends this week.  Unfortunately I went down with a gum infection on Friday which suddenly sent the world spinning at 100 miles an hour making me very nauseous.  There was no way I could travel in that state.  After two trips to the doctors Sunday and Monday was spent in oblivion, thanks to the strong drugs.   Yesterday I was starting to feel a bit better and was not spinning quite so much.  Today I was determined to try and do something other than lay around feeling sorry for myself.  Although I am still having bouts of spinning I am going stir crazy not doing anything.  It has taken me all day to make this card and I am now shattered but hopefully tomorrow will be better.  Anyway, enough prattling on...

Following the lovely sketch I layered my card with these pretty papers  and attached some gorgeous lace.  I coloured the image with promarkers and added a touch of glitter to her clothes.  I then distressed and glittered the edge of the image before layering it using a nestie.  Having stamped the sentiment I punched it out and added a flower button using silver cord.  I then distressed and glittered the edge.  My fanciful flourish has also been distressed (with ink) and glittered.  As it was a bit big I cut some of it off and placed it under the sentiment.  I placed some gorgeous roses on the larger piece.  A few gems in one corner finishes the card off.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.
