LOTV Sneaky Peek!

Challenges

Sketch & Stash (69) - Sketch (New Stamp/Paper)
Passion For Promarkers (115) - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations (134) - Dies/Punches
Fab 'N' Funky (88) - Embossing (Trees)

Today I have used another of the stamps from the LOTV 2nd Christmas release out on 6th September. This little cutie is called 'Little Bears - Snowman' and I have coloured it with promarkers, glitter and flock. Although I have followed the great sketch I have done something a little different this time with it. First I turned it, then I have used a die-cut fence, distressed and glittered, instead of the panel at the bottom of the sketch and stamped/embossed/glittered trees and snowflake instead of the panel/bow on the left of the sketch. I hope this is acceptable for the challenge as I was trying to create a bit of a scene. Anyway I'm calling it artistic licence and interpretation. The snowflakes have been punched from three different punches using white pearl vellum and I have added aqua shimmer dots to the centres to match the gorgeous paper. The sentiments have been stamped and glittered and cut with nesties as has the main image. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Butterfly Box

Challenges
Dutch Dare (127) - Anything But A Card
Digital Tuesday (126) - Going Buggy
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes

Today I have made a 15cm square box to use for a card with some rather large flowers on it (thankfully I don't have to post it). I don't make boxes very often as I'm not very good with the measurements, but my friend offered her expert advice and this is the result! I'm very pleased with it, thanks Terri!

Okay, so I covered the box lid with some digi paper, making sure I rounded the corners off first. I then cut a nestie label, embossed it and inked around the edges with a promarker. I then cut a smaller label, stamped the sentiment, inked the edges and placed this onto the larger one. Now comes the fun part of arranging the flowers and punched leaves, all attached with silicone glue. Finally I added some butterflies which I punched from blue vellum. That's it, hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Challenges

Mami Doodles (32) - Shaped Card
Digi Doodle Shop (73) - Anything Goes
One Stop Crafts (146) - Anything But Square

It's Monday so it's time for another challenge at Whoopsi Daisy. With Autumn just around the corner we want you to use 'Autumn Colours' on your creations this week. Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's blogs for more inspiration.

I have made a simple easel card this week. I sat my beautiful fairy on the top of it gazing dreamily at the butterflies flitting amongst the flowers in the Autumn sunshine. I have coloured the fairy and butterflies with promarkers adding glitter to the fairy's wings. The sentiment is simply stamped with distress ink and layered with nesties. I have added pearls to the centres of the flowers and 'dew' to the petals using Diamond Glaze. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Creative Inspirations - A Sad Farewell

(1) - Distressed/Buttons/Bows

(2) - Shabby Chic/Pearls/Lace

(3) - Vintage/Ribbon/Flowers

Challenges

Creative Inspirations (67) - Pick Your Own Challenge (1/2/3)
Simon Says - Sketch (1)
The Sugar Bowl (66) - Sketch + One For The Girls (2)

It is a sad day for everyone at Creative Inspirations as this will be our last challenge. Due to ill health and family issues Jude and Cheryl have decided to close the challenge blog. It has been both a privelage and a pleasure for me to work with such a friendly and inspiring team, thank you ladies. It would be so nice if you could all join us for our final challenge so that we can go out on a high.

This fortnight's challenge gives you three recipes to choose from -

(1) - Distress/Buttons/Bows
(2) - Shabby Chic/Pearls/Lace
(3) - Vintage/Ribbon/Flowers

As you can see I have done all three...

Card (1) For this one I have turned the sketch. I started this one by covering the base card with a piece of brown cardstock that I distressed the edges of. Next I added some digi paper which I tore the edges and distressed with chalks. The image/sentiment has been coloured with promarkers and the edges have been distressed too before layering with nesties. I used some gorgeous satin ribbon to tie a bow and added a rose. Finally I added a few buttons. I feel there is something missing from this one but can't put my finger on it.

Card (2) Following the sketch as it was I built the card up with layers of white cardstock and digi papers. The border down the middle has been punched and paper added. I have used three lengths of ribbon across the middle which I have added card candi to. The image has been coloured with promarkers and cut and layered with nesties. I sandwiched some gathered lace between the layers. Finally, I punched some butterflies from vellum, glittered the wings and added pearls to the bodies.

Card (3) For this one I have done a fold-back card. I added layered panels using pearl card and digi paper to the front and back. I then stamped some flourishes in the corners and added some flowers (you can see them better if you click on the picture to make it bigger). The image has been coloured again with promarkers and chalk and I have stamped flourishes around the edges before layering with nesties. The sentiment has been stamped, layered and coloured with chalks. Finally I added a bow made from three different ribbons.

That's it, hope you like them, thanks for looking.

Make sure you keep an eye on all the DT blogs and the Ideas To Inspire blog to see all the sneak peeks being shown.

I just love angels, as much as fairies, so I have used these cute little angels for my card, they are called 'Musical Christmas'. I thought I would make a step-card in pink and yellow today. I thought these colours would make a nice alternative to the usual Christmas colours, what do you think? I have coloured the image with promarkers, glitter and flower soft. The sentiment and stars at the sides have been stamped, coloured and glittered to match the main image. All are mounted on foam pads for a bit of dimension. Behind the image is a punched border strip with soft velvet ribbon added. A few flowers and leaves finish the card off nicely. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

I will be back soon with another sneak peek...

Working with the great sketch this week I started by covering the base card with my gorgeous new digi paper (see below). I then made a couple of panels using two more of the papers and adding some gold ribbon to one. The papers I have used are actually very pale pink but for some reason the blinkin' computer has changed the colour a bit. I cut the border with a border punch and added more gold ribbon along the middle. The image I have used is one of the new Christmas stamps from LOTV called 'Christmas Dance'. I have coloured this gorgeous image with promarkers and glitter, distressed the edges and added glitter before layering using my nesties. The circular sentiment has also had the edges distressed and glittered. Well, hope you like it, thanks for looking.

This week I have made an offset gatefold card and used this gorgeous fairy having some summer fun swinging in the trees. I have coloured her with promarkers and glitter and added a stamped sentiment. Challenges

Crafty Creations DT (132) - Red/Orange/Green
Daring Cardmakers - So Kawaii
Marianne Designs (1) - Anything Goes (Flourish)
Creative Card Crew - Handmade Flowers

Time for another challenge at Crafty Creations and this week we have a colour challenge for you. We want to see your creations with the colour pallette of Red, Green and Orange. We are kindly being sponsored by 2Cute Rubber Stamps who have a great prize for one lucky winner. Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT for more inspiration.

The DT were lucky enough to be given some images to play with this week and I chose 'Bumble Bee Cutie' for my card, isn't he just the sweetest little cutie? I coloured him with promarkers and added a suitable sentiment. I have used diamond glaze on his wings and face and added a couple of gems. The flowers, leaves, flourish and corners have all been punched. I coloured the flourish with various ink pads but I think it has blended in with the backing paper too much. Having added gems to the flower centres I decided to add a few butterfly gems to the corners and the flourish. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Whoopsi Daisy Challenge DT - Anything Goes

Challenges

Whoopsi Daisy DT - Anything Goes

After a short summer break the Daisy Diva's are back with another challenge for you at Whoopsi Daisy. We thought we would give you an easy challenge to get you back in the swing, so..... 'Anything Goes'. The prize for one lucky winner is two sheets of digi stamps (that's eight stamps altogether), well worth entering for. Don't forget to check out all the DT's blogs for some great inspiration.

Today I have made a card for one of my great nephews as he will be celebrating his first birthday next week. I can't believe it is already a year since he born. After a shaky start (five weeks premature), he is doing so well and is such a happy little soul.

As you can see I have used blue and white as my colour scheme and kept the layout quite simple. As soon as I saw this darling image I knew that was the one I wanted for Elliott's card, it's just so cute. I have coloured it with promarkers and gone around the edge with a pen for a bit more definition. The sentiment at the top has been stamped and I have also put the pen around the edge of it. The strip across the middle has been punched with a border punch and I have added white velvet ribbon to it. I didn't have any card candi the right colour so I used my promarker to colour some. It came out quite marbly looking which I think adds a nice touch. Finally I added his name with silver peel-offs. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

As you can see I have made a step card. I do love this style of card as although it looks quite impressive it is very easy to make. Today at Crafty Creations we have a great sketch and theme for you. The theme is 'Male Birthday' which is ideal for me as it is my eldest son's birthday today. We are being sponsored by Delicious Doodles who are offering four digital images of choice to one lucky winner.

Happy Birthday Shaun!

As he is a keen fisherman, he even spends his holidays fishing, I thought this stamp would be ideal for his birthday card. I bought it some time ago with him in mind but haven't inked it up until now, shame on me. I have coloured it with promarkers and chalk and put faux stitching around the edges. I have also added Diamond Glaze to the fish, reel, eyes and buttons. As I didn't have any appropriate paper printed off (my printer died the other day) I have made my own by stamping and heat embossing some fish onto brown cardstock. The strips at the bottom have been punched with a border punch and I have stamped little fishing rods onto it. I also punched one corner of the backing cardstock. Finally I used some string to tie a sailors knot and added that to another corner. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Challenges

Lili Of The Valley DT (108) - Roses
I Love Promarkers (77) - Things With Wings (Butterfly)
Sketch Saturday (166) - Sketch

This week's challenge at Lili Of The Valley is to follow a great sketch and Lisa and Laila have kindly donated a £10.00 voucher for one lucky winner to spend in the LOTV online shop. Don't forget though, to be eligible for the prize you MUST use an LOTV product on your creations.

For my card this week I have used the stamp called 'Rose Garden', isn't it gorgeous? Definately one of my favourtites and so easy to colour. As usual I have coloured my image with promarkers. Following the great sketch, but moving things around slightly, I have used several layers behind my image including a punched border to which I have added some pink velvet ribbon. I punched some flowers out of parchment paper and embossed them before adding the roses. I then punched a white butterfly from card and a blue one from vellum and layered them adding gems for the body. A couple more gems on the stamped sentiment and the card was finished. Hope you like this pretty card, thanks for looking.

Stamptacular (122) - Friends
Sketch & Stash (67) - Sketch (New Stamp)
Papertake - Anything Goes

Yesterday I had an idea to make a red and white card for a change and this is what I came up with. I have used one of the new LOTV Summer Girls stamps called 'Emma - Swing' and coloured her with promarkers. Following the simple sketch I covered the bottom half with gingham paper and the top half with embossed card which I defined by adding ink to the edges. To make the flowers I first punched them out and then stamped and heat embossed them with a spider's web stamp. After dry embossing to give them shape I added some buttons. I also added a button to the sentiment. A large satin bow finished the card. I was going to put roses on this card but I am rather pleased that I did the punched flowers instead. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.
