Yet Another LOTV Sneak Peek!

Challenges

Sketch & Stash (36) - Sketch (New Stamp)
C.R.A.F.T. (52) - Blue/Green

I must say this is one of my favourite images from the NEW stamps being released by LOTV on Tuesday. No wonder the poor lad is struggling - his boat is as big as he is ha! ha! Again I have coloured him with Promarkers. I have used twine instead of ribbon as I think it is a bit more boyish.

That's enough for today, my poor wrists and fingers are worn out using the keyboard for so long so I am off to do something else. Come to think of it I'm getting a bit peckish so I had better head for the kitchen to see what I can rustle up...

Stamp - Lili Of The Valley
Papers - Papermania (Blueberry Hill)
Buttons/Twine - Stash

Secret Crafter (85) - Buttons/Blooms

Here is another little cutie from LOTV that will be released on Tuesday. Doesn't she look sweet all dressed up in her finery? I have coloured her with Promarkers (my pencils aren't getting a look in at the moment).

Mami Doodles (4) - Up In The Air

Here is my favourite WOJ stamp, the lovely Melinda. I have again coloured her with Promarkers and added glitter glue to her wings. I have made a tag using my Nesties and a brad. As I'm not very good at bows I have tied a knot in the ribbon.

LOTV Sneak Peek!

Challenges

Stamp With Fun (60) - Sketch
ABC - V is for Vintage
Charisma Cardz (21) - Going Round In Circles
The Rainbow Lady (105) - Home Sweet Home
A Spoonful Of Sugar (105) - Celebrations

Ok, this is as vintage as I get, no scuffed up and torn paper for me!!! So, basically I have tried to use vintage colours, hope it works. I just noticed while putting the picture on this post that I placed the flowers in the wrong place according to the sketch, ooops!

This is one of the new LOTV stamps that are being released on TUESDAY. I chose this one as nothing says 'Home Sweet Home' more than arriving home and celebrating with a nice cup of tea. I have coloured this sweet image with Promarkers and if you want this stamp then be quick as they will sell fast... Don't you think the designs are just getting better and better?

Papers - DCWV (Linen Closet)

Stylised Flowers

Challenges

Truly Scrumptious (33) - Sketch
Cute Card Thursday (114) - No Design Paper
Delightful Sketches & Challenges - Textures
Allsorts (54) Black/White/Other (Pink)
Cupcake Craft (92) - Black/Grey/Other (Pink)

I must admit this is my least favourite of the cards I will be showing you today. I don't know what it is about it that I don't like as it is some of my favourite colours, maybe it's just the way I have put things together? I don't know!

Anyway, all the colouring is done with Promarkers including the flowers at the side of the image. I made the black & white paper by stamping a scroll along the edges. The pink card behind the image has been embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The border strip has been punched with a MS border punch and then stippled with ink. A couple of gemms added to the image to finish it off.

I'M Back!!!

Here I am back from staying with my son and daughter-in-law for a few days. Boy, have I missed my dear old pooter... I haven't been idle while I've been away as I took a small craft kit with me and have managed to make a few cards which I will post as soon as I have written the posts.

It was so nice to have a change of scenery and relax for a while. I even managed to start reading a book, which is unheard of as I don't have the staying power. I find it very hard to relax and whenever I try to I am always thinking of what else I should be doing. I will let you know if I manage to finish the book now that I'm back home, it might take some time though... While I was out and about my son decided to buy me an ice cream. Not just any old ice cream - oh no! It was a THORNTON'S ice cream, a TRIPLE in fact. WOW! If you have never tried these then I really recommend that you try at least one. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!! Despite being a notorious chocoholic I had never visited a Thorntons before - I think that might change now... Thanks son!

Right better get the posts written otherwise you won't see any cards.

Baby With Blanket - Sneak Peek!

Challenges

Lili Of The Valley (54) - Sketch

As I am away on holiday at my son's I am scheduling this post and hoping that Mr Blogger is being kind to me and posting it for me. Fingers crossed!

This week's challenge is a lovely sketch by our very own Bev. I have made a new baby card using one of the NEW stamps from Lili Of The Valley that will be released on 1st June. As you can see this is the most adorable little baby with his blankie, ideal for all sorts of baby cards! I have coloured the image with Promarkers and inked the edges before layering using Nesties. The sentiment has been done in a similar way. The little teddy has been stamped and also coloured with Promarkers. The flowers are punched with a MS punch, coloured with Promarkers and a rose has been added to each. I finished the card by adding a little bow.

Card Recipe

Stamps - Lili Of The Valley/Papermania/See D's
Papers - Raspberry Road
Roses/Bow - Stash

No cards!!!

Sorry I've not posted for a few days but I'm having a few days away at my son's in and around the Cotswolds. It has been a very busy few days so far as I have been to Swindon, Oxford, Gloucester and Banbury and today we are going to Bristol. No rest for the wicked!!!

I was hoping to go to a certain little craft shop that I had found last year in Swindon, but, unfortunately it has closed down. Such a shame as it was very friendly and had loads of different makes of stamps which I was keen to purchase. All is not lost though as The Inkspot was still there and still going strong. Although it is hidden in a back street I managed to find it and had great joy choosing some more Promarkers. I have been a bit limited as I only had a few skin and pastel colours before. Now I have quite a variety of colours I should be able to tackle most images. I am slowly getting used to using them and I seem to grab them a bit more than my pencils when I go to colour in an image.

As I have very limited access time to a computer I will not be posting any cards until about Sunday when I am back home. I did, however bring my craft bag with me and am trying to find time to make a couple of cards to show you next week.

See you at the weekend, I'm off to enjoy the lovely weather...

Bloomin' Lovely

Challenges

A Spoonful Of Sugar (104) - Cute & Girly
Papertake - Say It With Flowers
Stamp Something - Two Of Something
Stampin For The Weekend (39) - A Card To Make Someone Smile

This is a card for someone's mother-in-law that I've been asked to make so I hope it makes her smile when she gets it. As you can see it is cute, girly and has two butterflies and roses so I think it fits in with the above challenges ok.

The cute image is coloured with Promarkers (I am really getting into these now, just need a lot more practice). I have just used Glamour Dust on the 'paper' the flowers are wrapped in. The borders have been punched with a MS punch and ribbon added. I have 'iced' the buttons so that they sparkle and added roses to the top ones. The sentiment has been stamped and embossed and after layering I have added pearls to the corners. The sentiment reads 'sending you a little something wrapped in a whole lot of love'. I finished the card by adding a couple of stamped and embossed (with hologram EP for more sparkle) butterflies to the main image. They too have little pearls for bodies.

Ribbon - Dovecraft
Pearls/Buttons/Roses - Stash

Footie!

Challenges

Our Creative Corner - Masculine birthday
Sketch Saturday (103) - Sketch
Ooh La La (54) - Bright & Cheerful
Stamp With Fun (59) - Stripes
Doodle Palace - 3D
The Creative Cottage (11) - One For The Boys
Fab 'N' Funky (24) - Make Your Own Embellishments
Charisma Cardz (20) - 3D
C.R.A.F.T. (51) - Birthday/Celebrations

I've used a bit of 'artistic licence' with the sketch for this card but I hope it will be acceptable. After first rotating the sketch I have replaced the vertical strips with the sides of the goalpost. I have made the goal by attaching a piece of net to acetate. I then attached the goalposts to hide the joins. I stamped the footballs and cup, cut them out and attached with foam pads. The image has been coloured with pencils and chalks (for the dirty effect). I finished it by adding the child's name with peel-off letters.

Card Recipe

Paper - D.A.I.S.I.E.

Goalposts - Recycled Coffee Stirrers

Celebrate

Challenges

ABC - U is for Unused Stash (Metal Charm Word)
Charisma Crafts (19) - Sweet Treats (Food or Drink)
Cute Card thursday (112) - Someone Special (Daughter)

Stamp Something - Celebrate Something (Birthday)
Allsorts (52) - Birthdays
Secret Crafter (83) - Metal (Word Charm)
Creative Inspirations (34) - Punches or Die Cuts (Both)

I have coloured my image with pencils as usual but have also gone over the pattern on her dress with a Sakura Stardust pen to add sparkle. This has then been layered onto glittery handmade paper using my Nesties. I have layered the sentiments in the same way. The strips behind the image is white satin ribbon with sparkly ric rac ribbon on top. I have made the flowers simply by using a large white paper flower and adding a punched pink sparkly flower tooped with a paper rose. The ones at the bottom have added recycled white leaves. The butterfly has also been punched from the pink sparkly paper with pearls added. The metal charm word 'celebrate' is a magazine freebie I have had for about 4 years and never used along with 3 other words. Maybe now that I have finally opened them I might actually put them onto something, who knows?

Fancy Folds

Challenges

The Creative Cottage (10) - Fancy Folds

I don't know what sort of card you would call this but it was in a friend's kit so I thought I would see what I could come up with. The bit from the kit was the fancy fold card and some other bits of card with silver flowers on it. As you can see I used some of the floral card to add to the bits in the middle. For the front I simply made up a bouquet of white flowers and added a punched butterfly from sparkly hologram card. On the other side I stamped, embossed and layered a sentiment and added a couple of punched butterflies from white pearl paper. Considering neither of us knew quite what to do with it I think it came out quite well.

In The Garden

Challenges

Crafty Creations (66) - Magical
Colour Create (44) Khaki/Aqua/Brown/Cream
Paperplay (18) - Stamp/Digi & Bling
Mami Doodles (2) - In The Garden & Ribbons
Stamp Something (100) - Birthday Somethings
Sketch Saturday (102) - Sketch
Cupcake Crafts (90) - Buttons

The problem with this card is that I didn't realise at first just how large this stamp was. If you look VERY carefully you will see that I HAVE followed the sketch despite the image covering most of it up. I have kept to the colours as best as I could with what I have in my stash. This is a new stamp I have just got and I think she is so adorable but I do wish she was a bit smaller. Maybe in future I will have to stamp her and then shrink her in the computer??? Did you notice that I have paper pieced her dress?

Silver & White Wedding

Challenges

Ooh La La (53) - Minimalist (White Space Essential)
Fab 'N' Funky (22) - Show Us Your Fancy Edge
Simon Says - Birthdays/Celebrations
C.R.A.F.T. (49) - Wedding/Birthday
Charisma Cardz (20) - Weddings
Rainbow Lady (102) - Your Own Choice But No Design paper

Well I think this card just about fits all the challenges here. This is about as minimalist as I can get it and there is plenty of white showing, in fact the only other colour is silver. My fancy edges are done with a MS punch and Nesties. Next up, we are celebrating weddings and there is no design paper in sight. I did, however, run a piece of card through the Cuttlebug to emboss it. Before I forget, the image has only been heat embossed in silver and what looks black is in fact silver mirri board. If you look closely you will see that the ribbon is all glittery.

New Home

Challenges

The Creative Cottage (8) - Circles
Sketch Saturday (101) - Sketch
Creative Inspirations (33) - Congratulations (New Home)

What a great sketch this week's one on Sketch Saturday is. I have really enjoyed using it for this card. I have coloured the digi stamp house with a mix of Promarkers, MLP and Sakuras. I inked around the edge with a Promarker before layering it. The fairy image (thank you Terri), was coloured with the same pens and I have glittered her wings by heat embossing them with holographic EP. The sentiment is also a digi stamp with a bit of colour added.

Daisies

Challenges

The Cuttlebug Spot - Favourite Flowers (Daisies)
Passion For Promarkers (49) - Sketch & Handmade Flowers

This flippin' card has gone wrong in so many ways... First, I wanted to use a doily but this is the smallest one I have got (a bit big for the sketch!). I wanted to have another go at distressing as I am rubbish at distressing anything except myself when I try doing it. I rubbed three different distress inkpads across the doily and then spritzed it with water. I think I was too heavy handed with the inks as it all looks one colour!!! I also tried distressing around the edge of the base card but again, a disaster. It has come out a slightly darker shade of the original colour!!! The piece of card behind the main image has been embossed with the Cuttlebug and had distress ink rubbed over it but it ended up almost hidden by the main image!!! You can hardly see the ribbon because of the size of the BIG daisies!!! Ever lost the will to carry on??? Okay then, the main image has been stamped with distress ink and coloured and edged with Promarkers. The two large daisies have been done in the same way, cut out and embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I think these two elements are the only bits that came out right!!!

In my defence, your honour, I have been feeling a bit rough around the gills since developing a cold over the last couple of days. I rest my case!

Paper - Scrapbox
Ribbon - Recycled From Clothes
Brads - Stash

Cinderella

Challenges

Sunday Sketch & Stamp (26) - Pick A Sketch (16)
Stampin' For The Weekend (37) - Getting To Know You (Favourite Book-Cinderella)
Fab 'N' Funky (21) - No Design Paper
Our Creative Corner - Mothers Day Card With No Flowers
Whoopsi Daisy (1) - As You Like It

For the sketch I picked No: 16 because I liked the look of it and missed the challenge first time around, I have rotated it though for this card. My favourite book when I was small was Cinderella and this digi stamp is very like how I always drew her. I have only used pearl card, not a bit of design paper in sight! I think this is suitable as a Mothers Day card and as I no longer have a mother I have not added a sentiment, hope that's ok. The brand new Whoopsi Daisy Monthly Challenge has started today with a very easy theme, go and check it out... Just click on the link above.

The image is coloured with pencils and attached with foam pads. Have you spotted her glittery slipper???
