Patchwork Bunch Of Balloons

A quick CAS card today.  The teddy stamp is from LOTV and has been coloured with promarkers.  The sentiment stamp is from Hobby Art and has been stamped directly onto the base card.  I have doodled some scrolls around the sentiment with a fineliner to finish off.

Elf Tilda

Her is a little sparkly number using one of my favourite Magnolia stamps which I coloured with promarkers before fussy cutting and attaching with foam tape.  My blue base card was covered with sparkly cardstock and to this I added a bit of floral paper from my scrapbox.  I then added some strips of sparkly washi tape.  To finish I punched a butterfly from more sparkly cardstock and then added a layered flower with a brad centre.

A Christmas Wish

Here is another Christmas card with a stamped Christmas wish sentiment.  All the elements have been die cut with various dies.  Before cutting the village I inked through the die and I have applied the same distress ink on the trees and base card.  I added lots of Stickles and a piece of ribbon to finish it.

Collecting Daisies

Here is card I have made using a favourite stamp from Elisabeth Bell which I have coloured with promarkers and chalk.  The background has been embossed with clouds and I have added chalk to it.  The design paper is from Nitwits and I have added some ribbon and lace across the middle.  The sentiment is from Hunkydory and I have attached a charm with a star brad.  The flowers have been die cut from felt backed with thin card and I have added card candi to the centres.

I have never tried die cutting felt before and as the felt was rather thin I thought I had better back it with thin card before attempting to cut it.  It worked ok but I think I will get much thicker felt in the future.

Gardening Dave

A short while ago I was lucky enough to win a couple of mini kits from Pink Gem.  Here is a card I have made for one of my sons who has an allotment.  The backing paper is from a magazine freebie.  The character has been decoupaged and is quite high so I don't think I will be posting this one.  The butterflies have been punched and a bit of stickles added.

Happy Holidays

Another Christmas card!  This easel card will be for one of my granddaughters.

This gorgeous stamp is from Sugar Nellie and has been coloured with promarkers.  I then added crystal glaze and stickles.  The snowflakes have been die cut from sparkly card and I have added gems to the centres.  The background papers are magazine freebies.  The border panel has been covered with a contrasting paper and I have added deep red ribbon before attaching a chipboard sentiment.  The clothing parts of this chipboard sentiment are raised to add texture and there are tiny gems and sparkle on it too.

Hush...

For this card I embossed the background with an embossing folder.  I then coloured the digi stamp with promarkers, layered it with die cut mats and attached it with foam pads.  The cute digi is from Mo's Digital Pencil and the sentiment is computer generated.

Butterflies & Flowers

Here is a card with, I hope, a vintage feel to it.

First I added some leafy paper to my dark green base card.  I then stamped some scrolls, butterflies and a sentiment onto the paper.  Next I stamped the flowers onto contrasting paper.  I attached these after fussy cutting and shaping.  Lastly I added some Stickles to the centre of the flowers.  The stamps are from Hero Arts and the papers from my scrapbox.

Snowman Tag Card

Here is a card I made using a chipboard snowman tag.  I have used Spellbinders dies to cut a panel in the front of the base card and layered the centre with other.  I applied ink through some of the dies to add colour.  A ribbon bow and some card candi finishes the card.

Snowflakes

Not a very good weekend renovating this week.  Oh, the work is coming along nicely but I have come home injured!!!  On Saturday I did a 'face plant' through the very high set back door onto a concrete floor.  Consequently I have injuries to both legs, right arm and left hand.  Until yesterday when the massive bruise at the base of my thumb went down I couldn't grip anything.  It proved a bit of a bother as I use my left hand a lot.  Left leg superficial, right knee still bruised, grazed and swollen.  Right arm took the hardest hit and is still quite sore, grazed, bruised and very swollen.  I was surprised that I managed to keep my head clear of the floor.  Luckily a very kind neighbor patched me up so that I could carry on.

Anyway enough of my tale of woe.  My card was made quite a while ago but never got shown on here.  I can't remember who made the stamps, I think it might have been Stamping Up but don't quote me on that.  The background has been embossed with an embossing folder and I have added Stickles here and there.  The main snowflake has been stamped with a punched one on top of it.  Another snowflake, stamped sentiment, ribbon and gems finish it off.

More Home Decor

Before

Here is another bit of upcycling that I have done.  As you can see the frames were rather nice but a bit boring.  As the themes in my craft room are blue, gingham and hearts I set about changing the look of them to match.  First I removed the string and then gave them a base coat of acrylic paint.  I then sprayed them with iridescent Spray & Sparkle from Crafter's Companion.  While that was drying I die cut some hearts with gingham paper from Pink Petticoat to fit.  I then stenciled my letters and coloured them with a promarker before die cutting and layering them onto the paper.  Once inserted back into the frames I attached the gingham ribbon.  Finally I attached some punched daisies with gem centres.

I also did the 'skint' sign to match.

Key Cabinet

I thought I would show you a key cabinet that I upcycled a while back and never shown.  Before I started it was just plain wood but I didn't photograph it.  I started by painting the whole thing with acrylic paint.  I then added the grass (not very well), and white for clouds.  To get the effect on the clouds I just wiped bits of paint away until I was satisfied.  I then had a go at painting the trees.  I think the leaves and branches were good but not too sure about the trunks.  Anyway, when all the paint was dry I added some rub-ons and stickers.  Finally I coated the whole front with modge podge.

This was the first and only time I have ever attempted to paint a scene and I don't think I will be doing it again...

Baby Girl

On Monday I had a very excited phone call from my sister to inform me that my nephew and his wife had given birth to a beautiful baby girl that afternoon.  It was so darn quick (less than an hour!!!) that my nephew was delivering the baby while the midwife was in her car outside.  All is well and mother and baby are doing very nicely.

This card is for my sister to congratulate her on the birth of a new granddaughter, hope she likes it.

The gorgeous digi stamp is from Julia Spiri and I have coloured it with promarkers.  The background has been embossed with a folder that was free with a magazine ages ago.  I framed the image with a die cut doily and raised the image with foam pads.  The leaf flourish has been die cut and I have added paper flowers with pearl centres.  Nice and simple so that the focus is on the image.

White On White

I had a little play with some dies and an embossing folder today.  Can't say I'm altogether happy about the way it came out but someone will like it...

Having embossed the background layer I added some stickles to the flowers.  For the centre I placed a tree behind the cottage and one in front.  I added different stickles to these.  The snow on the cottage has also been raised up.

Sunflowers

For this card I have used coloured digi's/paper from Beccy Muir.  I layered the paper and card onto my base card adding a border with a stitched ribbon.  I fussy cut the flower buckets and added them to some panels putting the smaller one at the back and raising the front one with foam pads.  The stamped sentiment is a magazine freebie. The flowers and leaves are made with various punches from scraps.

Hagrid

My inspiration for this one was of course the Harry Potter books.

The digi stamp is from Bugaboo and has been coloured with promarkers.  The papers are from my scrapbox.  At the bottom I have attached 3 very old metal buttons that have dragons on them.  They had metal shanks but with an eyelet tool and a hammer I was soon able to flatten them!

So 80's...

I don't recall the eighties very well as I was busy rearing children but I do remember Ra Ra skirts were in fashion.  Fluorescent colours were also in fashion and I remember that my boys had socks in those colours but you had to wear odd colour ones on each foot or you weren't 'cool'!!!

As you can see my digi stamp from Whoopsi Daisy features a girl in a Ra Ra skirt.  I have coloured her with promarkers.  The backing papers are from my scrapbox and the sentiment from Hunkydory.  I have added some fluorescent paperclips to embellish the card.  Oh, and I turned the sketch!
