Totally Papercrafts (182) - Decoupage

Just lately I have been playing with some decoupage so thought I would show you what I have been doing with a pad that was a freebie in a magazine a while ago.

Following the great sketch I layered my base card and added a simple border with a die-cut fence on top.  I then decoupaged my image and stuck it onto another piece of card.  I then added some tiny butterflies (the waste from a die).  After adding a punched butterfly I used some stickles for their bodies.  A stamped sentiment finishes the card.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

 Now for some exciting news!!!

Times change, and we Fairies are changing with them. This will be the last ever challenge as Lili's Little Fairies. No, please, don't be too sad, read on.

We have had a blast as LLF but it is time for a new start and from next week (5 September), we are becoming 'Crafty Little Fairies', a new look and a new address.

Something else new and, we think, very exciting - we are opening the challenge up to use images other than LOTV.  So, you can still use your Lili's and we would love to see them, but you can also use other images too.  How cool is that?  I am sure the Fairies will continue to share their love of Lili with you all but this does mean more of you will be able to join in the challenges with us.

So, we hope you are as excited about all this as we are - see you next week for the first ever Crafty Little Fairies Challenge!

I can't remember the last time I made a Penny Black card which is a shame as I love these cute critters.  I coloured this one with pencils a long time ago so thought I would make a bright, sunny card for a male friend who loves gardening.  I have followed the great sketch using various panels, papers and ribbon.  The flowers and butterfly have been punched with gems added.  I also added Icycle Stickles to the butterfly.  A stamped sentiment finishes the card.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Time for a new challenge at Whoopsi Daisy and this week the theme is 'Use More Than One Image'.

This week I have made a wedding card with a bit of a scene going on using some of my favourite images.  I started by embossing my base card.  Next I printed out my images (I have flipped two of them) and coloured them with promarkers.  I then cut them out using one of my new dies.  Before taking them out of the die I distressed them with chalk.  Once attached I cut out the other image and attached with foam pads.  I then cut a couple of flourishes and added some gorgeous flowers.  Finally, I stamped a little sentiment and and attached it to a die-cut banner.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

WOW Christmas!

Challenges

Oldie But Goodie - Embossing (Old Peel-Offs/Stamp)
Fab 'N' Funky (182) - Stickers/Peel-Offs
ABC Christmas - Quick Cards
Sister Act (21) - Anything Goes
Allsorts (220) - Use Acetate

Here are a couple of quick Christmas cards I have made.  Both have a white on white and snowflake theme.

For the first card I started by die-cutting a snowflake aperture in the centre of my base card.  After I stamped the sentiment through the aperture, I embossed the card and added acetate to the back of the aperture.  I then die-cut some snowflakes, sprayed with glue and covered with glitter.  I then layered them and attached to my card adding a gem to the centres.  Finally, I added some small peel-off snowflakes to the acetate.

For the second card I simply added some die-cut ivy with a layered snowflake on top.  A peel-off sentiment and gem finishes the card.  Both cards were quick and easy to make.  Hope you like them, thanks for looking.

A Gem Of A Challenge (94) - Anything With A 'B' (Bird/Boat/Banner/Blue)

When my sons were children, school holidays were a time for dressing up and make believe.  Where a cardboard box would become a pirate ship and a wooden spoon turned into a cutlass. Their imaginations would keep them entertained for most of the day.

I made this card for my great nephews birthday, hope he likes it.  First I covered the base card with stripey paper and then cut an aperture.  Into the aperture I placed my decoupaged image.  I then punched three borders and layered them.  I placed my decoupaged pirate birdie at one end and added my sentiment banner which I coloured with promarkers.  The embellishments have been stamped and coloured with chalks.  A number three on the ship's wheel finishes the card.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Recently I have been on a bit of a craft spending spree in the hope that my mojo would get excited and return home, I think it might be working.  Anyway, one of the things I bought was this set of holly dies so thought I would try them out.  I have cut both sizes and put them together.  I added diamond glaze to the berries as well.  I have coloured my image with promarkers and added more glaze to her glass.  A border topped with festive ribbon finishes this simple card.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Whoopsi Daisy Challenge DT - Back To School

Challenges

Cute Card Thursday (282) - Buttons
Polkadoodles (33) - Heart
Sketch Saturday (272) - Sketch

Time for a new challenge over at Whoopsi Daisy and this week the theme is 'Back To School'.  Don't forget though, if you use a WD image then the theme is 'Anything Goes'.

We are also having a GDT CALL so if you love playing with Linnie's fabulous images and fancy being one of our guests then go here for more details, we would love to hear from you.

OK, back to my card.  I'm afraid it is a very simple one this week as I have not felt like crafting for a few week's.  Although I have followed the great sketch I have had to move my image across a bit to allow room for the stamped sentiment.  The image is a pre-coloured one, doesn't she look warm and snug in her outfit, ideal for the chilly walk to school.  The embellishment is just a ribbon bow with a heart shaped button on top.  A polka dot piece of ribbon finishes the card, as I said, simple.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Time for a new challenge at Lili's Little Fairies and this week the theme is 'Vintage/Shabby Chic'.

I will be the first one to admit that I'm not keen on the vintage look so I have gone down the road of shabby chic, without the shabby.  So basically, I've gone with shabby chic colours.  As you can see, I have used several panels to cover my base card using these gorgeous papers.  My image has been coloured with promarkers and glitter then I die-cut one of the corners before layering it.  Isn't this couple so sweet, they are certainly enjoying some Summer Lovin' don't you think?  A sentiment, flowers and pearls finishes the card.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Apologies for the late posting of my DT card.  I have been rather busy this week with going to doctors, hospitals and having surgery.  Still, as they say, better late than never.

Time for a new challenge at Lili's Little Fairies and this week the theme is 'Here Come The Girls'.  So out with all your girly stamps and have fun.

I chose to use this stamp because all of us girls love to go shoe shopping don't we?  I have coloured the image with promarkers and added some crystal glaze and icycle stickles glue.  I also distressed and inked around the edge before layering.  A sentiment and a few 3D stickers finishes this very simple card.  Hope you like it, thanks for looking.
