Edited to say: Sorry I'm late posting this but my back went while I was at work yesterday and I could hardly move let alone sit at a computer. After some resting it is feeling better and , although painful, I can now move around again.

Thanks to everyone who joined in our birthday celebrations blog hop last week and congratulations to all the winners.

Here we are again with another challenge for you from Creative Inspirations. This fortnight we want to see your 'Valentine/Love' projects/cards so let's get in a romantic mood as Valentine's Day is only 2 weeks away. Our great sponsors for this challenge are Quixotic Paperie and Di's Digis who are offering some fab prizes.

I decided not to go for the traditional Valentine colours of red or pink for my card but to try something a bit different. I think the yellow, green and white work rather well don't you? The DT were lucky enough to be given one of Di's Digis to play with so I chose this one which is called 'A Time To Celebrate'. These cute bears certainly look as if they are celebrating in style with their champagne. I have coloured the image with Promarkers and added Diamond Glaze to their eyes, the champagne and a few dewdrops on the rose. As you can see I have found a use for the little calenders that I haven't used by highlighting the day on the relevant page. I punched and coloured a heart and popped it behind the image. The flowers and leaves have also been punched out. Have you spotted the yellow ribbon down the left hand side? A few pearls were added to finish the card. Hope you like this one, thanks for looking.

Going Around In Circles.....

Challenges

Lili Of The Valley DT (82) - Any Shape But Square
Stampin For The Weekend (2) - Getting Warmed Up (Colours)
C.E.S. (20) - Angels & Fairies
Ooh La La (72) - Three Of A Kind (Flowers)
Crafty Creations (103) - Let's Heat It Up (Colours)
Paperplay (4) - Layer It Up

It's Thursday again so time for another Lili Of The Valley challenge and this week we have a great challenge for you. The theme this week is 'Any Shape But Square' so we would like you to make something that shows us some different shapes other than square, so let's see how inventive you can be. We are again being sponsored by Lisa & Laila who have kindly donated a £10.00 voucher to spend in the LOTV Online Shop. Don't forget, to be eligble for the prize you have to use an LOTV image on your project. The DT have created some beautiful cards so why not pop on over to the blog and have a look.

I must admit that I usually 'play safe' and make a square card so I was a bit out of my comfort zone doing this circular card. I started by distressing the base card with chalks and then stamped over the edge with Tapestry stamps. The image has been coloured with Promarkers but this time I have done her wings with Fantasy Film. It is such a long time since I played with this film that I had forgotten how gorgeous it looks. The image has then been layered onto various panels cut with Nesties. The flowers and leaves have been punched and roses put in the centres. The roses weren't the right colour so I touched them up with a Promarker. An organza ribbon finishes the card. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

I have decided to try and get ahead with my Christmas cards this year and am hoping to make one a week. Yeah!, right! let's see how long that lasts, ha! ha!

I've made a start with this one anyway. I have coloured this little fella with pencils and Sakura Stardust pen and added glitter to his hat and the snow. The heart has been die cut and embossed. The snowflakes have been punched. The ribbon is some sticky backed ribbon that I got free with a magazine a long time ago (trying to use up some of my older stash) and has hearts on it too. A few white gems and the card is finished. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Delightful Challenges - Celebration (Birthday)
Stamp Something - Cute Somethings
One Stop Crafts (115) - More Than One Fold (Gatefold Card)
Stamp With Fun (95) - Blue/Brown

I have made a gatefold card for a change and have used one of my new 'Simply Adorable' digi stamps. I think these are so gorgeous I couldn't resist them and they are so easy to colour as the shading has been done for you. I started by covering the inside and outside of the card with coordinating blue papers. I then coloured the image with Promarkers and used green chalk for the background. I then layered this onto a Nestie. The square panel behind has been layered with an embossed green panel to which I have added the image using foam pads. A few brown pearls in the corners finishes it off. I stamped and layered a small sentiment adding another pearl. I made two ribbon bows and layered them to finish the card. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Only A Rose...

Challenges

Penny Black & Allsorts - All You Need Is Love
Allsorts (86) - Teal & Brown
Penny Black (134) - Card Buffet (3 Buttons/Patterned Paper/Ribbon/3 Gems)
Secret Crafter (117) With Love

Creative Card Crew - Male
Passion For Promarkers (83) - All You Need Is love
Fab 'N' Funky (56) - Animal Magic
I Love Promarkers (49) - Keep It Sweet & Simple

I don't know about you but sometimes I get in a bit of a rut with the colours I use for my cards, usually soft pastels, so 'teal and brown' is quite a change for me. I think it worked rather well though. It also makes a change to make a male card, so much easier to make female ones don't you think. I coloured the cute little dog with Promarkers, inked the dges and layered it with Nesties which I raised with foam pads. The panel underneath has a punched border with two ribbons and three gems added. A circular sentiment and three buttons to finish. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

I have made this card to celebrate a very special birthday. The Creative Inspiration Challenge Blog is 3 years old and we are celebrating with a Blog Hop 18th - 25th Jan. To join in the fun just click on the link here and start hopping. There are oodles of prizes to be won!

Anyway, back to my easel card. Since losing my husband a few weeks ago I have been 'piggin' out' on food, especially cakes so my 'dream come true' would be to eat all these delicious looking cupcakes. BUT!!! I must resist as I have put on a lot of weight.... I can still have chocklit though can't I???

I have coloured the image with Promarkers using a bit of Diamond Glaze on the cherries and Glamour Dust for the frosting. I layered it with Nesties and added some faux stitching around the edge. You can just about see the two ribbons on the left side (the other side is covered with leaves). Also, if you look even closer you will notice that the flowers have been punched from the third paper and gems added to the centres. The punched leaves have been coloured with a Promarker as I didn't have the right colour card. The sentiments and larger cupcakes have been raised up using foam pads. A little punched butterfly with glitter and a gem added finishes it off. Hope you like this one as much as I do, thanks for looking.

Also this week we are kindly being sponsored by Whiff Of Joy Stamps who are donating a stamp from the Valentines Collection called 'Nora Blowing Kisses'. For a chance to win these great prizes all you have to do is enter the challenge and this week we want you to use 'Something New On Your Project'. A good excuse to try out all those lovely craft goodies that Santa brought you.

For my card I have used a new image and new papers. The image is another of the new LOTV stamps being released on 11th January and this gorgeous one is called 'Free'. I have coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it out using a circular Nestie. I resisted glittering her wings as I thought she would look lovely without. The paper lace has been punched with a MS border punch and I have added pearl flowers. I also added a pearl butterfly to the greeting. I just love the fresh look of my new papers which I got from Pink Petticoat so expect to see them on my cards a lot in the future as I can't get enough of them at the moment. Hope you like my card, thanks for looking.
