One For The Boys

Challenges

Stamp Something - Sketch

Charisma Cardz (21) - Going Dotty

Daring Cardmakers - Take Five (Brads)

Well, this one is certainly better than the last one. I love the simple lines of this sketch and will certainly be using it again. The stamp is from one of four sets of cute characters I got for my birthday.

Challenges

Friday Sketchers (54) - Sketch

Allsorts (3) - Curly, Swirly

Secret Crafter (34) - Pink, Turquoise and a Hint of Brown

I must admit I'm not too keen on how this one has turned out. I wanted to have a go at doing this shape of card but it hasn't quite come out right, I think I have cut too much off at the corners, still, we live and learn and I shall try again. The image has been coloured with pencils and layered using nesties. The panel underneath has been embossed with a cuttlebug border folder. I stamped swirls around the edges as they were a bit wide and finished off with peel-offs and flowers.

Cute Card Thursday (62) - Bit O' Bling

Paperplay (19) - Buttons Galore

Well, I do like to see how many challenges I can get out of one card, a challenge in itself.

Anyway, this little mermaid is called Pearl and she is from the new Lili Of The Valley cutouts called 'Mermaids'. There are three others to keep her company and they come together with backing papers and greetings all in gorgeous pastel colours. After adding glitter glue and Sakura Stardust pen to the image I layered it up and added some shell buttons. The flowers and leaves are punched out using the backing papers. I added pearls to the centres of the flowers and to the lace and popped a starfish button at the bottom. Hope you like it.

Two Challenges, One Card

Challenges

Simon Says (5) - Animals

Truly Scrumptious (8) - More Than One Fold

I made this card recently at my craft club using a friends stamp. It is a triple diamond fold card that our member Ken showed us how to do. I coloured the eyes with pencils and then applied Diamond Glaze to them so that they really stood out. I don't know who makes the stamp but I think it is very effective.

Crafty Creations Challenge (17)

This week's challenge is 'Butterflies'. I made this card a little while ago using an image from a friend. I used glitter pens to colour the image and layered it using my nesties. I stamped a greeting onto strips of card and then added some flowers to finish it off.

Cute Daisy May Challenge (13)

This week's challenge is 'Monotone' and I think this card fits the bill nicely. I have stamped a flower image and coloured the leaves with MLP pens. I then punched some flowers from scraps of the backing paper and placed them on top of the image. I then stamped the greeting, chalked the edges and layered it onto card. Next I cut the corners off and added a ribbon. Finally I added some gems to the corners.

Dutch Dare Challenge (49)

This week's challenge is 'Bling, Bling, Glitter'. I made this card while I was away and thought I would enter it for this challenge as, if you look closely, you will see that the gems have glitter behind them. The image is coloured using pencils and the card strip has been punched with a border punch. I punched the flowers out of matching paper and added the gems. I don't know who made the papers as they were my friends.

Rainbow Lady Challenge (61)

This week's challenge is to make a black & white silhouette card. The images are stamped and embossed onto black card using a white Versamark ink pad and white EP and the flowers are punched out of card.

As it was my birthday last week, there was one place I really wanted to go to on the day......The Dr Who Exhibition! Look who I met.....

SCARY! or what...

This has been one of the best birthdays I have had! I will show you some of the gorgeous handmade cards I received later in the week.

Here today, Gone tomorrow...

Hi everyone

Just to let you all know why I've not been blogging for a couple of weeks - BIG POOTER PROBLEMS!!! I have not had access to the internet etc and I am trying to get back everything I have lost during that time. At least I have the internet again, yay!

BUT, I will be gone again tomorrow as I am flying to Scotland early in the morning to spend my birthday with my friends. Oh no! This means NO CHALLENGES! What on earth will I do? I know, buy more stash ha!ha!

I was going to give away some blog candy to celebrate my birthday on Friday but couldn't because of the pooter probs. If anyone can tell me how to 'keep a post at the top' I will do it when I get back, so keep checking back here.

See you all next week.

Hugs Christine x

Lili Of The Valley (27) DT Card

This week's challenge at Lili Of The Valley is to use the colours pink, green and blue. For my card I have used one of the fairy die-cuts and placed her on an embossed heart shape. I used Sakura Stardust pens on her wings and flowers. I punched out some flowers and added a ribbon.

Challenges

Dutch Dare (46) - Sketch

Cute Card (58) - Mirror, Mirror

Daring Cardmakers - Old Macdonald's Farm

The Pink Elephant (13) - Circles & Scallops

Creative Card Crew (9) - Everyone Emboss

I've had to enlarge the sketch so that I could fit the image in as it is rather large. It's coloured as usual with my pencils, I'm not much good at watercolouring. The silver mirri board and white strip are embossed with the cuttlebug and I rounded the corners. There are scallops around the image and at the bottom of the black card. I punched circles of card and stuck buttons on top to finish off.

Funky Fairys Challenge (14)

Funky Fairys Challenge this week is a great sketch which is just what I needed for this card. This is the second card for another girl at work who will be leaving to have a baby soon. The colour is actually a lovely aqua green, not blue like it is showing. The beautiful crib is stamped with a Brilliance inkpad and layered using nesties. The flowers are punched out of coordinating paper.

Baby Hedgie

Challenges

Creative Card Crew (8) - Sketch

Penny Black (47) - Shapes X 3

This is a card for a colleague at work who is leaving to have a baby so I hope she likes it. As she doesn't know whether she is having a boy or girl I have played safe and used a yellow colour scheme. I have to make another card with the same theme as we have a second girl leaving to have a baby a couple of weeks later, maybe I'll use green next time as yellow doesn't show up very well on the pooter.

This is the first time I have made one of these, but it won't be the last. It is suprisingly easy to do. I followed a very good tutorial on Jodi's blog. Jodi has a great blog, why not pop over and have a look at her wonderful creations here.

The image is coloured with my pencils and layered using my nesties. The butterfly is stamped onto parchment paper and embossed.

A Spoonful Of Sugar (49) - Blue & Green

Crafty Creations (13) - Sweet & Yummy

Simon Says (3) - Recipe (2 papers/3 buttons/1 ribbon)

Paperplay (15) - A Stitch In Time

This is a very quick card as I am tired and just want to go to bed after a long working day. The image is watercoloured with my pencils and I have done some faux stitching around the edges and added a ribbon. I stamped the sentiment and added the buttons to finish it off. Nearly forgot, you probably can't see it but I used Diamond Glaze on the candle flames as well.
